The Thomas Hardye School is a 13-18 mixed comprehensive school with 2300 on roll including 800 in the Sixth Form. It is a part of the Wessex Multi Academy Trust. Teaching Assistant

Contracted Hours:30 Hours per week - Term time only
Starting Salary:Dorset Grade 5, Point 4 - £9.81/hr
£18,933 per annum with possible increments to £19,698 (pro rata: £12,810 - £13327))

We require a Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding team at The Thomas Hardye School to work with students aged 13-18, with learning and/or physical difficulties. We are an inclusive school and we currently have two resourced provisions, one for supporting young people with complex communication needs and the other for supporting young people with physical difficulties.

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Enthusiastic and committed to the learning needs of all young people
  • Good at building relationships with young people and other adults
  • Qualified at least to level 2 (grade C or above at GCSE) in English and Maths
  • Able to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality
  • Adaptable, flexible, proactive and relentlessly optimistic

Library/Resources Assistant

Contracted Hours:30 Hours per week - Term time only plus inset days
Starting Salary:Dorset Grade 3, Point 2 (with scope for progression)
£18,198 per annum equivalent (pro rata: £12,635))

We are seeking a responsible and enthusiastic Library / Resources Assistant to join the Learning Resources Centre team. You will be working in a large school library which currently stocks more than 17,000 items and which doubles as a sixth form study area. We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in young people and their learning and who has a passion for reading. You will need to be a good communicator and be able to work on your own initiative. Organisational skills, flexibility and a sense of humour are essential.

The role of Library/Resources Assistant will suit someone proactive who enjoys working with a range of people on a daily basis. Please see the job description for more details.

Assistant Site Manager

Contracted Hours:37 hours per week, full-time permanent position
Starting Salary:Dorset Grade 7, Point 8
£20,493 - £23,080 per annum

We are looking for a site manager to join our large caretaking team. The school serves around 2200 students, with over 250 members of staff over a large site. The role will involve supporting our experienced team in all aspects of school premises management, but specifically to oversee PAT testing of electrical items across the school as well as Legionella testing. Experience is not required as all necessary training will be provided, however basic DIY skills and an appreciation of health and safety at work would be preferable.

The successful candidate will need to be flexible with working hours – the team operate a shift system, with the possibility of some weekend work.
