Exceptional A Level Results for Thomas Hardye

One Third of all Grades at A or A*!
Eleven Oxbridge Places
Six Students Gain Places to Read Medicine

The Thomas Hardye School is celebrating another outstanding set of A Levels results even surpassing last year’s record high. The overall pass rate was 99% with one third of passes at grade A or A* - a remarkable achievement in a comprehensive school. The results confirm Thomas Hardye’s position as a leading provider of post-16 education with a national reputation.

Most students succeeded in getting their first choice of university - including eleven to Oxford or Cambridge and six students who have gained places to read Medicine. Several students achieved straight A*s across all subjects, and in mathematics three students were within 3 marks of achieving the maximum 600 marks across all papers. A very small number of students have gone into clearing which is evidence of the excellent results and the support that has gone into the application process.

Mike Foley, Headteacher, was keen to recognise the work of students and their teachers:
“These are exceptional results and we have raised the bar yet again. To achieve one third of all grades at A or A* is remarkable and I am delighted that all the Oxbridge candidates and all the medical students met their offers. Congratulations are due to a wonderful set of students, supported by their parents. I want to pay particular tribute to the teaching staff who have navigated their way through a complex set of reforms and these results are a testament to their skills and abilities. Our Ofsted report commented on the inspirational teaching in the sixth form and this is the outcome.”
