First heats of 'Yes Chef' Competition take place

Yes Chef

Recently, eight budding chefs from year 10  took part in the first heat of the Yes Chef competition, run by County Fare Foods. Tanisha Ring, Jess Mutch, Imogen Cole-Holland, Isaac Johnston, Lucy Andrews, Sam Winstanley, Robyn Masters, and Sophie Cary all had to produce either a seasonal risotto or a seasonal soup, together with a fruit sponge pudding, to which many added a home-made custard, all within two hours.

The judges from Country Fare Foods were very impressed with the high standard of dishes produced, their impeccable timing, and the calmness of students as they were cooking.  Everyone completed their dishes on time, all being delightful to taste!

Tanisha ring, Lucy Andrews and Jess Mutch impressed the judges the most and were chosen to go through to the next round which will be after Christmas at Bournemouth University, where they will have to take part in a ‘technical challenge’, as well as cooking another dish of their choice.

We are all very proud of them and wish them lots of luck in the next round. Very well done!
