The Thomas Hardye School

Maths Trip to London

Maths Crew

On Tuesday 5th February before the sun rose, 32 students from years 11 and 12 set off from school London-bound for a day of maths, music and comedy combined.

The event was held in Piccadilly Theatre and featured maths celebrities such as Matt Parker and Hannah Fry.  Students enjoyed talks about the maths of music and whether or not we should allow machines using maths to replace humans They had no end of puzzles to complete and there was also a special ‘Maths Slam’ feature where students from other schools presented on mathematical topics.

Interested in doing this next year?  Fancy getting involved in the ‘Maths Slam’ and having an opportunity to ‘perform in the west end’?  See Mr Wickham in the maths department for more details.
