Performance poet changes perceptions at THS

poet

To advocate the importance of oracy and celebrate National Poetry Day (3rd October), performance poet Mark Grist visited THS on Monday 30th September.

All of our lower school students were entertained and inspired by Mark, who delivered a series of performances and workshops throughout the school day. He challenged our students’ perceptions of poetry by encouraging them to instead consider the nature of being poetic and expressive storytellers. The talent and enthusiasm shown by our students was impressive; Mark enjoyed listening to the work they created and gave excellent feedback. We therefore look forward to receiving entries into this year’s DASP performance poetry competition which will be launched this October.
