Year 9 - Discover University

Despite the current lockdown, many of our planned events are still going ahead virtually. This week 90 students and parents attended an online presentation for year 9 students on higher education and universities.

The presentation, delivered by the University of Exeter, introduced students to different aspects of higher education, including course choice, accommodation, finance and the wider opportunities on offer at universities. We learnt that Exeter has a thriving Harry Potter society!

If you missed the presentation, you can watch a video recording below.

The Thomas Hardye School has a strong partnership with the University of Exeter. We will be promoting the ‘Exeter Scholars’ programme soon with our year 10 students. A number of our year 12 and 13 students have taken part in this programme and we are delighted that students in lower year groups are also able to apply.

The Sixth Form Futures Team is proud of the careers and progression support that is provided to students. In addition to partnerships with Exeter and other local universities, we also have good links with local careers and apprenticeship providers, including BAE Systems and the police.
